Deveciuşağı Beach and Bay
About & Visitor Guide
History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore Deveciuşağı Beach and Bay, southwest of Yumurtalık, is one of the most sheltered and wave-free natural bays of the Mediterranean. The name of the region comes from the well-established "Deveciuşağı" Yoruk tribe, which raised camels for the Silk Road caravans and wintered on the coast during the Ottoman period. It is one of the most tranquil and untouched sea paradise of Çukurova, with its thin sandy beach and crystal clear turquoise sea, away from the crowds and city stress. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features It is located on the coastline of Deveciuşağı Village in Yumurtalık district. Located at sea level (altitude 2m), the bay has a waveless and sheet-like sea structure, thanks to the natural cape blocking the winds. The beach has fine golden yellow sand.
