Yeniköy Pond and Nature Park

History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore The pond, located within the borders of Göynücek Yeniköy, was established to support agricultural production in the region and has turned into a nature park over time with the enrichment of the vegetation around it. This wetland, protected by the people of Yeniköy with their traditional cooperative culture, is a quiet recreation spot where green and water meet within the steppe geography. Local residents say that the hills around the pond are filled with colorful daisies, symbolizing fertility, in the spring months and that the surrounding villages hold their Hıdırellez celebrations here.
