Büğdüz Historical Mosque & Cultural Heritage
About & Visitor Guide
History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore The Historical Büğdüz Mosque, rising in the historical Büğdüz Village, founded by the ancient Büğdüz tribe, one of the 24 Oghuz tribes, which means "one who humbles and serves everyone", migrated from Central Asia to Anatolia, is a unique ancestral heritage that carries the Seljuk wooden pole mosque tradition to the Ottoman period. The mosque was built with the dark colored stones and solid wooden beams of the region; It reflects the simplicity of traditional Turkish-Islamic architecture with its hand-carved wooden ceiling core, wooden supporting columns, elegant preaching platform and stone minaret.
