Hasanoğlan Village Institute & Ancient Theater (1941)

History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore Hasanoğlan High Village Institute, one of the most original and revolutionary educational projects of the Republican period, is a monumental enlightenment center built in 1941 by the institute's students and teachers in a collaborative manner. In the campus established under the leadership of İsmail Hakkı Tonguç; There is an open-air Ancient Amphitheater with a capacity of 2,500 people, which was built by students by laying stones on top of stones, music halls, iron and carpentry workshops, a bath, a power plant and dormitory buildings. This historical social complex where great intellectuals and artists of the Republic such as Sabahattin Eyüboğlu, Ruhi Su, Aşık Veysel gave lectures; It is a sacred temple of education where Anatolian children are raised in agriculture, art and philosophy to develop their villages. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features The campus is located on a large orchard and oak land at the foot of Mount Idris, at an altitude of 1,120 meters.
