Mermerli Beach
About & Visitor Guide
History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore Mermerli Beach is Antalya's first sea bath and the city's oldest historical city beach. Located just at the southern tip of the historical Kaleiçi Marina, at the foot of steep travertine cliffs, this small bay was a sheltered shelter where the city's notables and nobles used to swim in ancient times. In the last periods of the Ottoman Empire, it was surrounded by wooden curtains and served as a sea bath for men and women. The beach, which takes its name from the historical Mermerli Mansion right above it, is a refreshing corner of nature where ice-cold fresh water springs boiling under the cliffs and salty Mediterranean water mix. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features The beach is located in a narrow and sheltered rock bay at sea level, where cliff cliffs meet the sea. The ground is a mixture of fine sand and gravel; The sea is waveless, transparent as glass, and extremely lively due to the cold fresh water springs boiling from the bottom. The cliffs surrounding the bay create natural shade in the afternoons. Visiting Hours, Days and Entrance Fees
