Bartın Garrison Martyrdom is the eternal resting place of the heroic Turkish soldiers and police who sacrificed their lives in defense of the homeland, Gallipoli War, War of Independence, Korea, Cyprus Operation and anti-terrorism operations. The monument, located within the Asri Cemetery, is the symbol of national loyalty of Bartın with its marble base and waving glorious star and crescent flag. In the stories passed down from generation to generation among the people of Bartın, the unparalleled heroism of the brave men of Bartın who rushed to the front from the rough waves of the Black Sea and the steep slopes of the Küre Mountains in defense of the homeland are remembered with respect. The monument is a spiritual pilgrimage visited by thousands of citizens and veterans every year. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features
It is located at an altitude of approximately 65 meters in the Orduyeri and Asri Mezarlık area, north of Bartın city center. With the influence of the Black Sea's mild humid climate, the centuries-old hornbeam, larch and laurel trees surrounding the martyrs' graves create a peaceful, serene and lush eternal garden texture. Visiting Hours, Days and Entrance Fees
•Entrance Fee:Visiting the Martyrs' Cemetery is completely free.•Visiting Hours and Days (Mandatory): It is open to visitors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.•Rules, Safety and Stroller/Disabled Access: Spiritual dignity must be maintained at the Martyrs' Memorial site; The rule of silence should be observed. Thanks to smooth marble paths and ramps, it is completely suitable for wheelchair and baby carriage passage.•Facilities and Facilities:Martyrdom memorial ceremony platform, flagpoles, fountain, seating benches and Asri Cemetery Mosque are available. Transportation, Public Transit Routes and Exact Location•Address / Open Location:Orduyeri District, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Street, Center / Bartın.•Road Condition and Vehicle Availability: It is approximately 2 km away from Bartın Government Office and Waterside Pier; It can be easily reached by passenger vehicles via the divided asphalt road within the city.•Real Public Transportation Information (Mandatory): Orduyeri and Boğaz public buses departing from Bartın city square stop in front of the cemetery gate.•Parking Availability:There is a free outdoor parking area for approximately 40 vehicles in front of the cemetery gate. Spiritual Visiting Etiquette and Commemoration Guidelines•Spiritual Visitation and Prayer Etiquette: Visitors should stand respectfully when they arrive at the monument base; Before stepping among the graves, Fatiha, Ihlas and Yasin-i Sharifs should be recited to the souls of our martyrs.•Documentary & Respectful Shooting:The glorious inscriptions on the tombstones and the Turkish flag reliefs should be photographed with dignity; Casual selfies should be avoided.•Important Commemoration Days:Mawlid is performed with the participation of the provincial protocol and citizens on 18 March, Martyrs' Memorial Day, 30 August and the eve of religious holidays.•Local Spiritual Tradition:During grave visits, traditional Bartın halva, lokma and sweets are offered and blessings are sent to the holy souls of our martyrs.
