Batman Garrison Martyrdom is the eternal resting place of our heroic Turkish soldiers, police officers and security guards who sacrificed their lives for the unity, peace and security of the homeland. The monument, located within the Asri Cemetery area, represents the unshakable loyalty of the people of Batman to their sons of the country, with its marble base and the crescent and star flag rising to the sky. The memories of our martyrs who wrote epics in the fight against terrorism and along the borders are kept alive here; In the spiritual narratives passed down by Batman families from generation to generation, it is respectfully stated that the martyrs buried in these sacred graves are the spiritual guardians of the city. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features
It is located in the southwest of Batman city center, in İkiztepe and Asri Mezarlık area, at an altitude of approximately 570 meters. Located in the southeastern steppe plain of the Tigris Basin, centuries-old pine trees, cypress groves and carefully tended rose gardens surrounding the martyrs' graves create an atmosphere of peaceful spiritual tranquility. Visiting Hours, Days and Entrance Fees
•Entrance Fee:Visiting the Martyrs' Cemetery is completely free.•Visiting Hours and Days (Mandatory): It is open to visitors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.•Rules, Security and Baby Stroller/Disabled Access: One should not speak loudly in the Martyrs' Memorial area and act with moral dignity. The marble paths between the ceremony area and the tombs are fully accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.•Facilities and Facilities:There is a memorial ceremony platform, flag poles, fountain, seating benches and Asri Cemetery Masjid. Spiritual Visiting Etiquette and Commemoration Guidelines•Spiritual Visit and Prayer Etiquette: When visiting graves, one should stand with good manners and be careful where one steps; Surahs Fatiha, Yasin and Ihlas should be gifted to the souls of our beloved martyrs.•Documentary & Respectful Shooting:The glorious inscriptions on the tombstones and the Turkish flag reliefs should be documented with dignity; Casual photographs and selfies should be avoided.•Important Commemoration Days:On March 18, Martyrs' Memorial Day, July 15 and the eve of religious holidays, Mevlit is read with the participation of the provincial protocol and citizens.•Local Spiritual Tradition:After visiting the graves, lokma, halva and condolence candy are distributed and prayers are asked for the souls of our martyrs.
