Kop Mountain Winter Sports and Ski Center
About & Visitor Guide
History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore Kop Mountain Winter Sports and Ski Center is one of the important winter tourism centers of the region, located on the peaks where Eastern Anatolia and the Eastern Black Sea meet, with its crystal snow structure and long ski season. Kop Mountain, known among the locals as the 'great mountain wearing its white wedding dress', was a legendary pass that caravans had difficulty crossing for centuries, but today it has turned into a contemporary center of attraction where sports, nature and winter excitement meet. Thanks to the dry frost of the continental climate, the snow that falls here does not contain moisture and retains its powder crystal snow feature, which is only found in limited centers in the world, for months. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features It is located on the northwestern slopes of Kop Mountain, between 2,350 and 2,950 meters altitude. Its surroundings consist of high alpine meadows and steep valleys covered with deep snow cover in winter. The wind-sheltered structure and high altitude of the tracks offer uninterrupted skiing from November to the end of April. Visiting Hours, Days and Entrance Fees
