History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore Budaklı Thermal Spring (Norşin) is a natural open-air thermal crater pond formed from the Nemrut volcanic fault line with rich sulfur and mineral waters boiling at 40°C. Especially in the winter months, when the snow depth reaches 1-2 meters, the villagers put their buffaloes and horses into the warm hot spring waters for healing and cleansing, and the rising giant steam clouds are flocked by photographers around the world. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features It is located on the geothermal spring plain at the base of the snowy Muş-Bitlis plain, at an altitude of 1360 meters above sea level.
