Çırçır Waterfall, which emerged when the Keban Dam, one of the largest engineering monuments in the history of the republic of Türkiye, was completed and held water in 1974, is one of the youngest natural waterfalls in the world, formed by underground karst springs gushing from a huge valley cleft. This region, fed by the cold and clear Euphrates waters coming from the dam lake, has become the trout production capital of Türkiye. The famous Euphrates Trout, grown in the oxygen-rich waters of the Euphrates River and cooked in a casserole with butter and kashar or grilled over oak coal, is the registered gastronomy brand of the region. It is believed among the local people that the water of Çırçır Waterfall facilitates digestion, cures rheumatic diseases and with its microclimate that provides coolness in the summer heat. It is located 3 km north of Keban district center, at an altitude of 680 meters at the bottom of the Euphrates River canyon. The spring waters roaring out from under the mountains, foaming among the green willow and plane trees, mix with the main branch of the Euphrates River. Visiting Hours, Days and Entrance Fees
•Entrance Fee:Entrance to the waterfall recreation area and walking track is free; Trout and fish menus at the facilities are subject to restaurant price tariffs.•Visiting Hours and Days (Mandatory): Open 7 days a week between 08:30 - 22:30; In the summer months, it hosts many visitors to cool off in the evenings.•Rules, Safety and Stroller/Disabled Access: Wooden piers and walking platforms at the water's edge have railings and flat-foot ramps for strollers and disabled visitors.•Facilities and Facilities:There are countryside restaurants with waterfall views, trout ponds, children's playground, prayer room, washrooms and local souvenir kiosks in the region.
