History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore Belen Observation Deck and City Park is a magnificent view balcony at the summit of the historical Belen Pass of the Amanos Mountains, overlooking the Gulf of Iskenderun on one side and the fertile Amik Plain on the other. The strategic Belen peak, where Alexander the Great passed after the Battle of Issus and where the Ottoman armies stayed during their eastern campaigns, is now one of the most popular stopping and viewing points in Hatay with its modern landscape and recreation opportunities. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features Its exact altitude is 650 meters. It is located on the narrowest gorge of the Amanos Mountains. It is a unique outdoor spot with its constantly blowing cool mountain winds and panoramic valley views opening towards the bay. Visiting Hours, Days and Entrance Fees
