Historical Cebeciköy Aqueduct (Mimar Sinan - 1560)

History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore The Historical Cebeciköy Aqueduct, built by Koca Mimar Sinan on the Cebeci Stream for the Kırkçeşme water transmission line during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent, is an elegant work of stone engineering that crosses the valley with 11 arches. The arch built with solid block stones extracted from Cebeci Küfeki quarries; It is a living witness of the Ottoman water civilization with its triangular spurs and curved architectural lines that provide resistance against flood waters. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features It is located at the foot of the green forest in the Cebeci Stream bed, at an altitude of approximately 75 meters above sea level.
