Sığacık Castle, built by Admiral Parlak Mustafa Pasha using the stones of the Ancient City of Teos in 1522, by order of Suleiman the Magnificent, in preparation for the Rhodes Expedition, is the symbol of Seferihisar, Türkiye's first quiet city (Cittaslow). Sığacık Kaleiçi, the only castle settlement within the castle walls where life continues uninterrupted until today; It is a medieval port town alive with whitewashed stone houses with bay windows, wooden shutters, bougainvillea-lined labyrinth streets and the famous local producer market held every Sunday.
