Historical Aktekke Mosque and Mader-i Mevlana Complex History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore

  • •The complex, which was built by Alaaddin Halil Bey in 1370 during the Karamanoğulları Principality, was built by Hz. It is the eternal resting place of Mevlana's mother Mümine Hatun, his elder brother Alaaddin Ali and his close relatives.
  • •The Mevlana family, who set out from Belh, resided in Karaman (then Larende) for 7 years before coming to Konya, Mevlana got married here and their child, Sultan Veled, was born here.
