Daday Historical Mansions and Traditional Etli Ekmek Bazaar

History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore The wooden framed Kastamonu mansions with bay windows and the centuries-old Çınaraltı Square rising in the historical district center of Daday reflect the deep-rooted architectural memory of the district. The biggest fame of the bazaar is the famous Daday Etli Bread, which has a geographical indication and is registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. This delicacy, which is cooked on a hot sheet over a wood fire by placing minced meat and spices in thinly rolled dough and spread with genuine village butter, has been kept alive in ovens in the same way for centuries.
