Kayseri Garrison Martyrdom and Martyrs' Monument (Eagle)

History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore Kayseri Garrison Martyrdom (Eagle Martyrdom) is the eternal resting place of our heroic sons of the country who sacrificed their lives for the indivisible integrity of the homeland and the peace and security of the nation, from Çanakkale to the War of Independence, from the Korean and Cyprus Peace Operations to the fight against terrorism and cross-border operations. The martyrs' cemetery, located in the Kartal location within the Kayseri Modern Cemetery, has an unshakable place in the hearts of the nation with the graves of the brave heroes of the Kayseri Airborne Brigade and the Commando Brigade who wrote epics in the fight against terrorism. The monumental Martyrs' Monument rising in the center of the martyrs' cemetery, the marble cemetery area and our glorious red flags waving proudly at each grave are the spiritual seal of the Turkish nation's love of the homeland. In local narratives, it is narrated with awe that the spiritual spirit of our martyrs, who lie in this sacred land at the foot of Mount Erciyes, is on guard in the skies of Kayseri, and that an indescribable tranquility and peace spreads among the graves every Friday and Kandil night. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features It is located in Melikgazi district, on the axis of Kartal Junction and Asri Cemetery, at an altitude of approximately 1,055 meters. It has an orderly and respectable landscape, surrounded by centuries-old pine, cypress and acacia trees, in a dominant position overlooking the snowy peak of Mount Erciyes.
