Çağırkan Village Square and Japanese-Turkish Friendship Monument (Kaman)
About & Visitor Guide
History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore Çağırkan Village Square is the heart of Çağırkan Village, home to Kaman Kalehöyük Archeology Museum and Mikasanomiya Japanese Garden. Thanks to the archaeological excavations that started in 1986 under the auspices of Japanese Altes Prince Takahito Mikasa, Çağırkan has turned into a unique cultural friendship bridge between Japan and Türkiye. The Japanese-Turkish Friendship Monument and environmental arrangements in the square symbolize the common scientific and cultural success of two ancient nations. The village people have been hosting Japanese researchers for nearly 40 years, displaying exemplary Anatolian hospitality. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features Located at an altitude of 1,030 meters, the village square spreads over a wide area on a gently sloping slope. Sakura (Japanese cherry) trees and local pine trees planted around the square create a pink-green color riot in spring. Visiting Hours, Days and Entrance Fees
