It is the historical meadow where Fatih Sultan Mehmed Khan, the great sultan of the world who opened and ended eras and received the good news of our Prophet (pbuh) by conquering Istanbul, set up his tent with his army while going on his last campaign and walked to God on May 3, 1481. Fatih Sultan Mehmed Monument is the saddest and holiest memorial site in Turkish history with its marble Fatih Fountain with inscription built by Grand Vizier İbrahim Pasha in 1659, historical open-air prayer hall and grand plane trees.
