Enne Dam Nature Park
About & Visitor Guide
History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore Enne Dam Nature Park is the city's most popular nature conservation and recreation area, where the Enne Dam Lake basin, located in the west of Kütahya, meets the rich forest texture and water ecosystem. The dam lake was initially established for thermal power plant and irrigation purposes, but over time it has become a unique wildlife and migratory bird shelter with the larch groves around it. It is believed among the local people that the deer living in the pine forests around the lake for centuries are considered sacred and that watching the reflection of the mountains in the lake mirror soothes the soul. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features The nature park is located at an altitude of approximately 1,010 meters above sea level. In the park area of approximately 48 hectares, lush larch, juniper, oak and willow trees line the lake shore. Carp, chub and catfish live in the lake; Wild ducks, cormorants and herons live on the lake surface. Visiting Hours, Days and Entrance Fees
