The centuries-old grand plane trees in the courtyard of the mosque have been a meeting place under which transhumants escaping from the hot Mersin summers have gathered and chatted for centuries. It is known that during the years of the War of Independence, Gözne Defense Defense detachments gathered in this mosque and took an oath.
