About & Visitor Guide
History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore Akvaryum Bay is known as 'Adaboğazı' among sailors because it is located in the strait of İçada (Gora Island) between Gümbet and Bitez peninsulas. This bay, where schools of fish on the seabed, sand ripples and ancient anchor ruins can be seen even with the naked eye due to its glass-clear water, is one of the most ancient stopping places on the Blue Voyage route. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features At sea level, it is a narrow and sheltered strait between the island and the mainland. Its bottom is completely covered with fine white sand. Water depth varies between 1.5 meters and 5 meters throughout the strait. It is surrounded by maquis, wild myrtle and dwarf oak communities. Visiting Hours, Days and Entrance Fees
