Sandima Historical Abandoned Stone Village

History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore Sandima is an ancient mountain village with a deep-rooted history of more than 600 years, built at the foot of Partipanaz Rock on the Yalıkavak ridge. The people of the village, which was built on a high valley slope that is not visible from the sea in order to be protected from pirate raids, migrated to the Yalıkavak coast since the 1960s and the village turned into a nostalgic stone ghost town. Today, it whispers the spirit of the past with its centuries-old stone houses and art workshops. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features The village, with an altitude of approximately 250 meters, is located in a valley covered with oak and olive trees surrounded by steep cliffs.
