Hurmadibi Beach and Bay
About & Visitor Guide
History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore Hurmadibi Beach and Bay is the clearest and natural seashore of the district, hidden on the western slope of Gerze's Köşk Cape, which extends to the Black Sea. It takes its name from the wild persimmon trees that grew abundantly on the coastal slopes in the past. Curving in the shape of a natural rocky crescent, the bay provides protection like a natural breakwater against the harsh waves of the open sea. The sea bottom is a mixture of sparkling pebbles and sand, and the clarity of the water reveals the underwater flora like glass. In accordance with Gerze's quiet life philosophy, it is the number one sea stop for families and quiet holidaymakers, away from noise. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features Located at sea level, the bay is surrounded by pine trees and green rocky slopes. The sea is very clean and creates a current-free and safe swimming basin. Visiting Hours, Days and Entrance Fees
