History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore

•The social complex built by Sağman Sanjak Bey Salih Bey during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent in 1555; It consists of a domed mosque, madrasah, tomb and historical fountain.

•The structure, built of cut stone on the steep Sağman cliff overlooking the Keban Dam Lake, is one of the most elegant examples of Ottoman stonemasonry in Eastern Anatolia.

•In the legends, it is stated that Salih Bey had the social complex built on this eagle's nest hill where the Euphrates and Murat rivers intersect, in order to foster knowledge and wisdom. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features

•The altitude is approximately 1,250 meters above sea level. It is located on the steep rocky ridge of the historical Sağman Village, north of Pertek.
