History and General Information / Local Legends and Folklore

  • •The structure, which was built of cut stone together with the Çapanoğlu Grand Mosque complex by Çapanoğlu Mustafa Bey in 1779, is the oldest Ottoman bath in the city.
  • •It bears all the features of classical Turkish bath architecture with its domed changing rooms, warm water and central stone hot sections.
  • •In the legends, it is stated that the ashes of the wood burned in the furnace of the bath were used as fertilizer in the vineyards of Yozgat and that it was the cleaning and health center of the city for centuries. Geographical Structure, Altitude and Natural Features
